Mighty Oaks offers a unique opportunity for parents to spend quality time with their children in beautiful rural woodland in north Norfolk.
Parents are supported as much as their children as both grow together through the wild journey of parenting.
Based on the principles of Rudolf Steiner, we encourage active, creative, open-ended play with wholesome materials, imbued with a sense of reverence for the natural world, its rhythms and cycles.
Our sessions begin with a woodland walk in which everyone can relax, explore and absorb the terrain through its ever evolving seasons.
Returning to our heated, covered base camp for high quality organic food and drinks together around the table, we then engage in imaginative creative projects with you and your children, often using materials we have found on our walk.
Simple songs and rhymes throughout the experience underpin the rhythm, and culminate in circle time around the fire, when we all sing together. For the older ones - a story is told, before we sing our goodbye song.
We currently offer two sessions per week, 9.30am until 11.30am:
Mondays for under threes, and Thursdays for three up to age seven.
Parents benefit as much as their children from time spent outdoors, whatever the weather. Mighty Oaks gives space and fresh air and the opportunity to absorb the calming healing energy of the peaceful woodland setting.
